Well, well, well what do they say about when you wake a sleeping giant? I think there are a lot of giants around (like minded individuals) who have basically gotten to the point with this music thing that they are tired of the bullish and just like in that great movie Network they are not going to take it anymore. Happy Mother’s day to all the mothers around the world. Make sure you hug her and tell her that you love her, you only get one!
This can be an especially difficult day for those who have lost their mothers. I hope you’re able to enjoy and celebrate the great things that your mother instilled in you and reflect upon the good times you shared together.
Enjoy this TSOP (Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia – Live in Concert)

“I’ll always love my mama
She’s my favorite girl
I’ll always love my mama
She brought me in this worldSometimes I feel so bad
When I think of all the things I used to do
How mama used to clean somebody else’s house
Just to buy me a new pair of shoesI never understood how mama
Made it through the week
When she never ever got
A good night’s sleep”

With a number of poignant moments, The 2010 Soul Train Awards began the “hippest trip in America” with a bang! With a classic style of presence, R.B. crooner, R. Kelly set the tone with a memorable opening performance. (more…)
In looking at this video, it appears “R” took a page from the book of Marvin Gaye much like Maxwell’s Fistful of Tears. Funny enough, I can really see Marvin crooning a song like this selection with the fullest conviction and emotional expression he’s known to embody. In this video, I’m very pleased to see and hear Kellz in this musical light. Despite much of his personal scandals and being “trapped in the closet”, this 60′s inspired song pleas the case of R. Kelly’s ability to shift gears and deliver a melody which requires some emotional dynamics and carries a timeless appeal in it’s lyrics. Now I know Kellz’ may make me eat my words by doing some kind of “stripper remix” because of course, we don’t have enough of those on radio, however I’ll simply enjoy this piece for what it’s worth at the moment.
Chicago native Ashaki is now taking her place center stage after years of working with artists such as R. Kelly, Sparkle, Ten City and Tony Thompson and Oprah(yes that Oprah). You can also add to her list of accomplishments being selected by Kanye West to handle the choreography duties for his “Jesus Walks” video.
From comparisons to Miss Jackson and Niecy, Ashaki is poised to forge her own Something Special.
