Watch out for new SRC Universal/Motown artist, Melanie Fiona. I’m late being introduced to her, but she is dope with a beautiful, sultry voice. Hailing from Toronto to Guyanese parents, her new album, The Bridge, seeks to ‘bridge the gap‘ musically as well as between genders, ethnicities and age groups. I think she’s accomplished this as the cuts I’ve heard so far are as diverse as her background, and not in a contrived/A&R flavor of the month sort of way. It feels genuine and reflects just good music. Check out her EPK below as well as couple of joints (It Kills Me!) from the album due out in May. Shout out to Qwest Love for the tip.
