Another great introspective in D-Nice’s excellent series.
In this edition of True Hip-Hop Stories, Sadat X discusses the making of the classic Brand Nubian recording Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down. He also reflects on the state of hip-hop today and how his stint on Rikers Island changed his life.
The latest in the D-Nice True Hip Hop Series features Cinderfella Dana Dane discussing growing up in the Ft. Green projects, his career and his true passion.
Hip hip pioneer, DJ, web-developer and photographer D-Nice (United Camps), has an excellent series on his blog titled True Hip Hop Stories, where he chronicles some of hip hop’s finest and allows them to tell their story in their own words. Beautiful. That’s one of the things we’re going to do as well, allow the untold stories to be told. So, if you’ve got a story that needs to be heard, get at us.
His previous stories have featured Kwame, YZ, Dana Dane, Masta Ace, Joe Ski Love and many others. A must see for any hip hop fan and very well produced. This edition features one of my favorites, DoitAll from the Lords of the Underground talking about the genesis of the “Funky Child”.
