[Trailer] Blitz the Ambassador – “Something to Believe”

Directed by Terence Nance, the film addresses the detachment we all battle, when faced with the the world’s overwhelming issues. “It’s hard to think about all the problems in the world without getting a little overwhelmed. So, a lot of times we just ignore things. I think Africa has suffered a lot because people choose to remain ignorant, rather than address the issues that are right in front of our faces,” Blitz said.

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010I’m going to make what I have to say very short and to the point, because this music says it all. After the first listen I remarked to Mista C: “This track needs to be listened to and discussed in every middle and high school Social Studies class in the country. Period.” (more…)
Blitz the Ambassador “Lovers Remorse”
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009Check out the new track from Blitz the Ambassador “Lovers Remorse”. It’s got a haunting, soulful vibe to it that balances out the rest of his energetic numbers like “Breathe.” Make sure you pick up his new album Stereotype too, which has been steadily making waves in the hip hop world.

Nas and Blitz the Ambassador @ Hunter College; “Black President” footage
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009On Friday I saw Blitz the Ambassador open for Nas at Hunter College – talk about a hot show!
Blitz got the packed theater going with his full horn ensemble on songs like “Breathe” and “Home.” His album Stereotype is out August 4th, but keep an eye out for our early review of the album coming in the next week!
Nas (one of my all time favorite emcees, just on a personal note) performed for over an hour and delivered an incredible performance. With recent favorites like “Hero” and “Black President” to classics from Illmatic, the crowd at Hunter knew every word, clapping and rhyming along with Nas for every song.

Blitz the Ambassador at the Knitting Factory
Sunday, November 23rd, 2008
On Wednesday, I went to one of the last hip hop shows at New York’s famed Knitting Factory (which if you don’t know is shutting it’s doors next month) and caught Blitz the Ambassador’s set (also there were Amanda Diva and Che Grand).
Blitz, who hails from Ghana, is one of those performers I expect you’ll be hearing a lot about in the future. He’s performed all over — from Alaska to SOBs — and he captivates any audience he goes in front of — I’ve seen him 3 or 4 times now, and every time he’s got great energy and an even better show. His mantra is “good hip hop isn’t on the radio” (complete with an illustration of a suit-wearing man with a stereo for a head shooting through the radio).
Blitz is a rare find in today’s hip hop world, and I love what he’s bringing to the table. Great lyrics, awesome live shows (EVERY time — such energy), and of course, he’s an amazing emcee to top it all off.
