Maxwell-Grammy Acceptance Speech 2010

Before I weigh-in please watch the clip, if you have not already seen it.

First of all congrats to Maxwell, the recognition could not be more well-deserved. As I watched this live on Sunday I could not help but be struck by a few things that Maxwell stated. “At a time where music is not that exciting sometimes…because the feeling is gone.” I couldn’t agree more. I believe that Maxwell also mentioned his band in the making of the record and used the words us or we. He didn’t have a laundry list of “producers” he had his band, his palette and made his music. I hope Maxwell will inspire others to do the same.
