We wanted to post this great remix that has been submitted to the Lalah Hathaway Remix Contest on Indaba Music by GFM fave Apple Jac. Press the play button and then make sure to cast your vote. This is def, how you do a dance remix.
Of course Tyrese had to give you a remix in response to his hit song “Stay”. Tyrese gets an assist from both Rick Ross and Faith Evans, but the addition of Faith alone would have still made for a good remix. I appreciate the fact that the remix is a full on remix- with a different melody, different tempo, and a few new lyrics added in. While the original “Stay” was for the bedroom, this one’s for the dance floor. Open Invitation is available at Amazon.com and ITunes.com.

The commentary(context) for this post is going to be very short and sweet and to the point. We live in a big world that is made much smaller through advances in technology etc., etc., Music that goes from your block, your city, state, country whatever doesn’t just disappear after you’ve heard it, it continues to reverberate somewhere and sometimes if you’re(we’re) lucky it can come back to you in a form you hadn’t expected and you’re quickly reminded of an old friend when you meet this new friend.
The AfroBeatles: FELA meets the Boys from Liverpool (The Black & White Album)
If Michael Jackson is The King of Pop, and Fela Kuti is The King of Afrobeat, then the Beatles are of course, the Kings of Rock & Roll. Dominating the music industry as a band, composers, performers and activists, The Beatles are icons of Rock & Roll, known as the best band ever. AfroStreet once again takes a bold move into remix/mashup territory bringing masters of entirely unrelated genres together in an epic blend just in time for the worldwide HD broadcast of FELA! Live from The National Theatre in London on January 13th.
